We started Ordinary Sourdough Bread with a passion for creating delicious, healthy, nutritious sourdough loaves and bakery treats that bring people together, with nothing "extra" added. Available research shows the additives that are all too common in products manufactured by big industrialized food companies contribute to inflammation and digestive difficulties experienced by growing numbers. These additives may make products cheaper and give unnaturally longer shelf life, but often at the cost of our families' health.
Marc's lifelong love of cycling & wellness, combined with an appreciation for minimally processed "slow" food and old-fashioned, traditional methods led to our choice of the "Ordinary" high wheel bicycle as our logo.

Our (very) small home bakery produces sourdough breads and bagels for pre-order/porch pick-up and local farmer's markets only - no storefront (yet!).
We source the highest quality ingredients to create our signature sourdough, including locally grown, organic whole grains and flour when available. How your food is made matters to us. A lot! Our commitment to freshness means that every bite is full of taste and nutrition.

All our breads are slow fermented with our very own sourdough starter and baked in small batches. We use only high quality bread flour, whole grains, salt and listed extras - no hidden ingredients! "Ordinary" Sourdough loaves are larger than may other artisan bakers - all loaves are approximately 1 kilogram (2.2 lbs.) unless otherwise specified.
Fresh-baked aroma and clean tangy flavors with a light crumb and crispy crust. Classic for sandwiches, toast, or dipping in extra-virgin olive oil & herbs. It's our best selling loaf! 900-950g loaf.
Baker's favorite! Organic whole wheat is house-milled and added to give color, texture and extra nutrition. This is the crusty bread you want with a soup and/or salad - and makes great sandwiches, too! 900-950g loaf.
House-milled rye flour lends a nutty sweetness and tender crumb to this flavorful favorite. Made with caraway seeds for an authentic aroma and taste. Makes fantastic Reuben sandwiches! 900-950g loaf.
Fresh rosemary and kalamata olive take you away to the stories shores of the Mediterranean. The rich flavors and aromas of this loaf make it a great addition to a charcuterie board. 1,000g+ loaf.
Game day wouldn't be the same without this spicy, cheesy loaf. A classic combination of zing and a cheesy crust will satisfy your craving for grilled cheese. Makes fantastic toasted sandwiches! 1,000g+ loaf.
This recipe was adapted from a fellow Rackmaster 2020 owner/baker who generously shared this best-selling loaf. A touch of maple and the wholesome goodness of rolled oats combine to make a surprisingly tasty and endlessly soft bread suitable for sandwiches, french toast, or anything else you might think of! Our family and friends say this is a new favorite. 800g loaf.
Just try it! Testers say this one is no less than "great!" and it's super-nutitious at the same time. House-milled organic hard red wheat & organic sprouted spelt flour are added to a dough made with locally farmed and milled heritage grain flour. Then we add toasted sesame and flax seeds for a tasty and toothsome crunch. Baker's new favorite! 800g loaf.
Organic roasted pumpkin puree give this beautiful loaf a fantastic orange color and pumpkin flavor, along with a boost of dietary fiber, vitamins A & C and carotenoids. We add just the right amount of warming ground Cardamom spice to keep it interesting, and roll each loaf in organic sprouted pumpkin seeds for some extra flavor and crunch. Your guests will be impressed! This bread is soft and easy to slice. We recommend adding a little cream cheese to put a smile on your tastebuds. 900-950g loaf
Available seasonally. This special holiday bread is a labor of love and will dazzle your guests! House-made candied pecans are toasted with a bourbon-barrel aged maple syrup, cinnamon and sea salt. Dried cranberries, honey, and zested orange peel ensure there is plenty of merriment and festivity! We use an all-organic bread flour for this beauty. 900-950g loaf
